Its heavenly natural configuration, made also precious by the presence of the pond of Curcurica, qualifies it as an area under special safeguard and protection. Considered one of Sardinia’s finest beaches, Bidderosa is entered along a path that goes into a luxuriant pinewood, enriched by eucalyptuses and junipers. The beach of Bidderosa embraces five coves of incredible beauty: the fifth, to the north, borders with the beach of Berchida. The sand, of an impalpable silver colour, is adorned by evocative reddish rocks, while to its rear are luscious junipers and pines, and the scent of the wild lilies. You’ll need to ride through about 4km of forest to get there, but even the journey’s a treat surrounded by Aleppo pines, junipers, eucalyptus, pine trees and lilies. Break through to the shore and you’ll see perfect turquoise water, silver sand, and red rocks. Head to Curcurica pond if you want to stay out of the surf and spot a flamingo. Because of its amazing natural beauty Bidderosa beach is part of a protected nature reserve and only open to a limited number of 130 cars every day. No restriction for bikes, entry fee € 1,00. Access to the beach is managed by the association “Le Ginestre” of Orosei.

The reserve is 20 Km away from Orosei and extends over 860 hectares. It is protected by specific planning controls. Bidderosa also includes the Basin Sa Curcurica, which harbours a great variety of birds: the Cormorant, the Heron and the Flamingo. Besides enjoying the crystal clear water of these coves, we suggest you tour the area by mountain bike to get an even better experience of the wildlife of the reserve. Anyone who has been here keeps a lasting memory inside his own heart, a vivid emotion that is renewed each time you come back to Sardinia.
